Art Beyond the Gallery
In an unprecedented fusion of art and adventure, renowned Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan has partnered with Avant Arte to launch a global scavenger hunt titled "Where's Maurizio?”. This innovative initiative invites art enthusiasts and urban explorers to embark on a quest to discover limited edition sculptures hidden in everyday locations across three iconic cities: London, New York, and Amsterdam.

The Artwork: "We Are the Revolution"
At the heart of this scavenger hunt is Cattelan's latest creation, "We Are the Revolution" (2025). This miniature resin sculpture reimagines his 2000 piece Untitled, featuring a self-portrait of the artist suspended by a nail through his collar. Each sculpture is hand-cast and painted, with only 1,000 editions available.
The Hunt: Where Art Meets Adventure
From September 30 to October 7, participants can follow daily clues released on Avant Arte's dedicated website to locate these hidden sculptures. The hunt spans both physical locations and digital platforms:
• London & Amsterdam: Clues will be shared online, guiding participants to specific locales.
• New York: Sculptures will be hidden in various establishments, including bodegas, antique shops, and market stalls, with prices ranging from €0.99 to €9,999.
The Prize: Claiming the Sculpture
Upon discovering a sculpture, participants can claim it by purchasing it at its listed price. The first person to find each sculpture in each city will have the opportunity to own a piece of contemporary art history.
Why It Matters
This global scavenger hunt is more than just a game; it's a statement on the accessibility of art and the role of the public in the art world. By placing his work in unexpected locations, Cattelan challenges traditional notions of art ownership and invites a broader audience to engage with contemporary art.
