Embroidered Napkins
Tracey Emin's embroidered napkins carry short phrases of love and longing stitched onto cotton: I Promise to Love You, Wanting You, I Felt You and I Knew You Loved Me, I Could Have Really Loved You and My Heart Is With You Always. Embroidered and stitched text has run through Emin's work since the 1990s, from her appliquéd blankets onwards.
Each napkin is embroidered cotton, around 40 to 45 cm square, with a hand-signed, dated swing tag, in a reported edition of 50. The works date from 2012 to 2015 and come in different colourways, such as pink and blue or blue and red. Lougher currently has six napkins.
