The Currency

The Currency is a series of hand-made works on paper by Damien Hirst, made in 2016. Each sheet is painted with spots of one-shot enamel paint on handmade paper, and each is unique, with its own number and title, such as 7491. An incongruous destiny or 4203. You gave away everything. The works measure 20 x 30 cm and are signed, numbered, titled and stamped on the back. Our listings describe them as unique variants from a series of 5,149.

In 2022 Hirst followed them with The Currency Unique Prints (H11): giclée prints, 100 x 150 cm, each a unique variant from a series of 1,000, signed and numbered on the front. Both come in the original HENI packaging. Lougher currently has eight works on paper from 2016 and five H11 prints.
